This autumn, the Geomaterials and Computing Department of the Hungarian Geological Society (MFT) held its renewal election for the 2021-2023 cycle, during which Gábor Szatmári, a member of the Department of Soil Mapping and Environmental Informatics, was elected as a board member. The main tasks of the Department are to promote the use and application of mathematics in earth sciences and to organize discussion forums, conferences and professional trainings.
