The international sustainability competition awards researchers whose scientific achievements can contribute to solve global environmental challenges. The researcher of the Institute for Soil Sciences who won the award has published a paper on changes in organic carbon stock in soils.

Gábor Szatmári, postdoc researcher at the Institute for Soil Sciences received the Youth Award of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences

Gábor Szatmári was awarded the Kreybig Lajos Prize for young researchers by the Hungarian Soil Science Society in recognition of his outstanding work in soil science and related fields.

On the occasion of the national holiday (Saint Stephen's Day) of 20 August 2022, Dr. Tamás Németh was awarded the Order of Merit (civilian) - Commander Cross.

Gábor Szatmári, senior research fellow of our Institute, has won Bolyai János Research Scholarship with his application entitled "Quantification and propagation of spatial uncertainty in complex soil functions using up-to-date statistical approaches".

In recognition of the high quality of its scientific work, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) has awarded the Institute for Soil Sciences the status of MTA Centre of Excellence.

The professional evaluation committee selected Gábor Szatmári, senior research fellow of our institute, as one of the winners of the Junior Prima Award.

Through the donation of academician Tibor Jermy and his wife, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences awards the prize every year to young biologists who carry out their research work in the field of theoretical and applied zoology.

Our institute was involved in the award ceremony four times: Gábor Szatmári was awarded the Róbert Bárány Prize, while Péter Csathó, Kálmán Rajkai and Tibor Tóth were awarded the title of Research Professor Emeritus.
