László Pásztor: In March 2019, digital soil mapping specialists gathered in Chile for a joint event of the two IUSS working groups (DSM/GSM). A report on a remote conference, its location, the capital Santiago and its surroundings.

János Mészáros: Hungarian climate research has been carried out in Chile since 2012 within the framework of the Atacama Climate Monitoring Expedition. On the last occasion of the expedition series, I joined to create aerial remote-sensing data. Picture summary of work in the desert-high mountain environment – results, pitfalls, future plans.
