Conference on soil fertility and land use in the light of land lease

The Department of Agricultural Economics of the Hungarian Chamber of Forensic Experts organized a conference with the support of the Institute for Soil Sciences and the Hungarian Soil Science Society. In Hungary, a significant part of the arable land is cultivated by tenants on the basis of contracts, and in the absence of regulation during the several years of use, the owners have no information about their land ownership other than the rent agreement.
The speakers of the conference will analyse the soil quality and agro-economic relations expected from the spread of market land rents in the agricultural economy in their presentations. It has become timely to define soil criteria for assessing the correct, incorrect and harmful management of land users.

The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Gergely Tóth, professor, doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The presentations:
1. Dr. Kálmán Rajkai, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences: Relationship between soil fertility and the adequacy of land use by landowners
2. Dr. Ferenc Ligetvári, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences: Impact of dynamic water resources on land use by family farms and farms leasing land
3. Dr. István Szűcs, Doctor of Economics: Theoretical context of land assessment
4. János Jáger, expert in forensic engineering, Chairman of the Hungarian Chamber of Forensic Experts Agricultural Economics Department

Presentation of the first forensic methodological letter prepared for agriculture and its expected impact on land leasehold agreements.
The presentations were followed by questions and debates.
